MORE INFOBreathwork Classes
These regular weekly classes will involve a scuba session in the pool, with breathwork techniques taught by our qualified Breathwork Facilitator Chad Bertram. These classes will cater for both tourists doing a one-off class before their reef experience, as well as local residents wanting to participate on a regular basis.
If you are interested in improving your scuba diving skills as well as reducing stress in your top-side life, take a look at the below benefits of a scuba diving breathwork class.
Improved air consumption and extended bottom time: Proper breathwork techniques can help divers optimize their breathing patterns. By using breathwork to slow breathing rates, divers can extend their bottom time within safe limits, allowing for more exploration and enjoyment.
Stress reduction: Underwater environments can sometimes induce stress or anxiety. Breathwork can counteract these feelings and promote a sense of calmness.
Conserved energy: Efficient breathing can help conserve energy during a dive, leading to reduced fatigue and a more enjoyable experience.
Increased safety & enhanced buddy awareness: Breathwork techniques can help divers stay calm and focused in challenging situations, contributing to safer diving practices. By incorporating breathwork techniques, divers can stay more attuned to their dive partner’s breathing and potential distress signals.
Better buoyancy control: Controlled breathing can assist divers in maintaining proper buoyancy! Good buoyancy skills allow divers to move easily through shallow coral gardens, take better photos and make the most out of their time underwater.
Increased mindfulness: Breathwork encourages divers to stay present and focused on the dive, allowing them to fully appreciate the marine environment.
Emotional regulation: Breathwork while scuba diving can aid in emotional regulation, helping divers stay composed and relaxed during the dive.
Improved dive confidence: Mastering breathwork skills underwater can boost a diver’s confidence, making them feel more in control of their dive experience.
Enhanced relaxation: Breathwork while scuba diving can induce a state of relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety associated with underwater exploration.
