Resurface & Eye On The Reef
Divers often engage in environmental conservation efforts, such as reef clean-ups and marine protection initiatives, uniting them in a shared goal of safeguarding the oceans. When diving with Resurface, you have the opportunity to do your part to protect what you love.
“The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) have designed a monitoring and assessment program which enables anyone who visits the Great Barrier Reef to contribute to its long-term protection. The benefits of this initiative are wide and varied, but essentially it allows GBRMPA to collect valuable real-time information about reef health, marine animals and incidents and this can be used to understand the bigger picture and inform how to best manage the Reef.”
Resurface dive clients can download the free Eye on the Reef app prior to departure of their trip. During their dive day/ dive trip they can use the app with the help of their Resurface dive guide to record reef health, animal sightings or incidents.
And if you can’t get out to dive with Resurface, but are interested in what’s happening in this great natural wonder, GBRMPA’s interactive Sightings Network map allows anyone in the world to see the amazing wildlife being encountered and recorded by all visitors to the Great Barrier Reef.
